Designing the Legacy: Crafting Bespoke Interiors for London’s Most Iconic Home

Grand living space in a restored Grade I listed London property designed by Supremati with heritage detailing and soft neutral palette.

At Supremati, we understand that a home is not merely a place to live - it is a legacy. Nestled in the heart of London, our luxury interior design studio specialises in curating timeless, bespoke interiors for Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, including London’s most elite addresses from Belgravia and Knightsbridge to Mayfair and Holland Park.

Working on heritage-listed properties demands more than creativity. It requires precision, deep architectural understanding, and fluency in the language of conservation and luxury. At Supremati, we bring all three to each project.

Luxury Design Meets Historic Preservation

Restoring and elevating a listed home is a rare opportunity — and a significant responsibility. Grade I and Grade II properties are architectural treasures, protected by history and planning regulations. Our design philosophy seamlessly bridges contemporary opulence with classical integrity.

Whether reimagining a Georgian townhouse or breathing new life into a Victorian mansion, we approach every project with bespoke attention. Our team works closely with heritage consultants, artisans, and structural experts to ensure every intervention enhances rather than competes with the building’s original character.

Our Clients: The Global Elite

Supremati’s clients include international investors, developers, and private families acquiring London’s most prestigious real estate. These are individuals who expect museum-quality interiors, discreet project management, and a refined design language that reflects their status without ever being ostentatious.

From private members’ club aesthetics to contemporary art-led environments, our designs are always curated, elevated, and highly personal.

Recent Highlights

Grade I Listed Townhouse in Belgrave Square, Belgravia

Supremati is privileged to work on a Grade I listed architectural gem set within the capital’s most distinguished garden square. This six-story landmark, originally designed by Thomas Cubitt in 1825 and paired with an adjoining mews, has been reimagined as a 21st-century super-home.

The brief focused on celebrating the property’s architectural heritage while introducing discreet contemporary luxury. Our design concept centred on light, refined colour palettes, understated glamour, and exquisite materials, enhancing the timeless character of each space.

In the grand reception rooms, we carefully integrated existing antique furniture, preserving the building’s historic soul while curating a coherent, elevated aesthetic. For the private quarters, we designed bespoke joinery and custom furniture, tailored to the period detailing and the client’s lifestyle needs.

One principal room quietly reflects both heritage and refinement. Here, we applied 100% wool walling fabric by Holland & Sherry, paired with triple-pleated silk curtains by Dedar, hand-trimmed with a Rubelli border. Textured linen sheers from de Le Cuona gently diffuse light, while an antique brass pole by Tillys Interiors adds understated sophistication.

Supremati led full procurement and site-level design management, ensuring the vision was delivered with precision and care. The result: an atmosphere of quiet grandeur and timeless luxury, rooted in the building’s storied legacy.

If the walls could speak, we imagine they would share stories of elegance from every era now enriched by a new chapter.

Grade II Listed Apartment in Mayfair, Carlos Place

Set on the principal floors of a Queen Anne Revival building (1885–1895), this Grade II listed Mayfair duplex offers a rare expression of fashion, design, and heritage. Supremati was appointed to craft an interior worthy of its prestigious location, Carlos Place, one of London’s most fashionable and historically rich streets.

Inspired by the adjacent Connaught Hotel and couture houses on Mount Street, the apartment was designed as a couture-level private residence. The interior draws on a palette of cream, emerald, taupe and antique brass, creating a look that feels both classically elegant and forward-thinking.

At the heart of the home is a grand drawing room with nine-foot ceilings, original architectural detailing, and a Regency-style fireplace. Furnishings are tailored, tonal, and layered, echoing the quiet luxury of a private members’ club. A Juliette balcony brings soft light into the formal entertaining space.

The kitchen and breakfast area features silver-grey cabinetry, honed marble surfaces, and Gaggenau appliances, designed for both aesthetic cohesion and everyday functionality. Ambient lighting and mirrored paneling elevate the dining experience.

The master suite is finished with deep silk carpets, custom silk wall coverings, and a statement headboard, accompanied by a walk-in dressing room and a veined marble-clad en suite with Art Deco detailing and brushed brass fixtures. A sweeping staircase leads to two additional guest suites with fitted joinery and curated lighting design.

Beyond aesthetics, we implemented Lutron lighting, integrated AV, underfloor heating, and climate control to deliver seamless, high-performance luxury in every room. The project exemplifies our ability to balance historic charm with contemporary lifestyle needs in one of London’s most iconic locations.
