Living Well in Luxury Property: My Contribution to The Luxury Property Forum’s Wellness Thought Leadership

The definition of luxury property is evolving. No longer driven purely by aesthetics or scale, today’s ultra-prime homes are judged by how they support wellbeing, longevity and performance.

I was proud to contribute to “Living Well in Luxury Property”, a thought leadership report by The Luxury Property Forum — the official forum for the luxury property sector, bringing together senior leaders from across the global super-prime value chain Wellness Thought Leadership.

The report explores how wellness is redefining the luxury property industry, examining what meaningful wellbeing really looks like in high-value residential development and private homes.

A Shift from Visual Opulence to Lived Wellbeing

One of the report’s central findings is clear:

Luxury is no longer defined by spectacle — but by how a home feels and performs day-to-day.

Across architecture, interiors, engineering, landscape and real estate, contributors agreed that UHNW clients increasingly prioritise:

  • Restorative sleep

  • Acoustic calm

  • Air and water quality

  • Circadian lighting

  • Intelligent infrastructure

  • Seamless daily routines

  • Long-term healthspan

Wellness is no longer a gym, spa or cold plunge added at the end of a project. It must be embedded from the earliest design stages to create homes that genuinely support physical, cognitive and emotional wellbeing Wellness Thought Leadership.

Joining a Distinguished Panel of Industry Leaders

The report brought together perspectives from leading figures across the luxury ecosystem, including:

  • Savills

  • Technogym

  • Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group

  • Oliver Burns

  • HollandGreen

  • SMC Smart Homes

  • Marcus Barnett Studio

  • Six & Six Private Islands

Contributing alongside such respected names reflects the growing importance of integrated wellness thinking within the super-prime property sector.

My Perspective: Wellness as Infrastructure, Not Decoration

In my contribution, I focused on the importance of treating wellness as a design philosophy rather than a checklist.

Too often, wellness is reduced to visible amenities. Yet the most powerful expressions of wellbeing are invisible:

  • Intelligent environmental control systems

  • Spatial flow and orientation

  • Material selection and tactility

  • Noise management and soundscape design

  • Long-term adaptability

As the report emphasises, meaningful wellness requires early collaboration between architecture, interiors, building services, landscape and technology — not bolt-on features introduced late in procurement Wellness Thought Leadership.

The future of luxury lies in homes that:

  • Anticipate needs

  • Reduce friction

  • Adapt to lifestyle changes

  • Protect long-term health and resilience

Wellness as a Driver of Long-Term Asset Value

A key conclusion of the report is that wellness is rapidly becoming a baseline expectation rather than a differentiator.

Over the next five years, luxury homes are expected to become:

  • More intelligent

  • More personalised

  • More data-driven

  • More health-oriented

  • More longevity-focused

As highlighted in the conclusion, future asset value will increasingly be defined by how effectively a property supports wellbeing, sustainability and resilience — not just by location or scale Wellness Thought Leadership.

This shift represents a profound redefinition of value in the luxury property market.

The Future of Luxury Living

The most compelling idea emerging from this collaboration is simple:

  • The highest expression of luxury is ease.

Homes that earn trust rather than demand attention.
Spaces that quietly support performance, recovery and calm.
Architecture that enhances life without shouting about it.

Wellness is no longer a trend. It is the framework around which modern luxury is being built.

I am honoured to have contributed to this important industry dialogue and to be part of shaping what the next generation of luxury living will look like.
