Timeless Interior Design in Wimbledon Village: Two Distinct Homes, One Design Philosophy
Wimbledon Village is synonymous with refined elegance, timeless charm, and a sense of community steeped in heritage. At Supremati Studio, we believe interior design should mirror this spirit—balancing character, functionality, and soul. In our latest projects nestled in the heart of Wimbledon Village, we had the opportunity to bring two very different homes to life—each a reflection of its owner’s personality, yet unmistakably rooted in our studio’s design ethos.
Project One: Contemporary Classic Living
In this sophisticated Wimbledon Village residence, we were invited to craft a space that blends modern comfort with classic elegance. The design challenge was to bring warmth to a clean architectural shell, turning it into a haven for relaxed living and stylish entertaining.
Using a carefully curated neutral palette with subtle accents, we layered natural textures—linen, oak, brushed brass—to soften the sleek lines and add depth. Thoughtful spatial planning made the most of natural light, while bespoke joinery offered both visual harmony and functional storage. The result? A space that feels both elevated and grounded—a modern classic tailored for contemporary living.
Two: Period Charm Reimagined
Just a few streets away, our second Wimbledon Village project centred around a stunning period property that called for a sensitive yet imaginative transformation. The client wanted to honour the home’s architectural heritage while infusing it with personal meaning and bold expression.
We retained the original character—graceful fireplaces, ornate cornices, and traditional sash windows—while introducing confident, contemporary contrasts. Inspired by their passions for sailing and winemaking (they own a vineyard in Italy), the client embraced a vibrant palette rich in deep sea blues and robust wine tones. These hues brought personality and depth to the interiors, creating spaces that feel both grounded and invigorating.
Clean-lined furniture, sculptural lighting, and curated artwork added modern clarity, while tactile layers of wool, cotton, and velvet ensured warmth and softness throughout. Each room flows effortlessly into the next, unified by a spirit of elegance, individuality, and quiet drama.
To bring the vision to life, we collaborated with some of the finest British and European craftspeople, whose exceptional skill and attention to detail ensured every element—from bespoke joinery to hand-finished surfaces—was executed to the highest standard. De Le Cuona for bespoke curtains and blinds; Weldon for antique reclaimed oak parquet; Smallbone for the kitchen cabinetry, Stuard Interiors for bespoke oak office joinery and panelling. The main contractor - Bailey & Jones.
